NOTICE is hereby given, pursuant to California Education Code Section 5092, that a vacancy has occurred on the Manzanita Elementary School District Board of Trustees due to the resignation of John Cooprider effective September 24, 2026.
The Manzanita Elementary School District Board of Trustees intends to fill this vacancy by provisional appointment in accordance with California Education Code Section 5091.
Residents of the Manzanita Elementary School District who are at least 18 years of age, registered to vote, and otherwise eligible to hold office are encouraged to apply for consideration.
Qualified individuals who wish to be considered for appointment should submit an application for appointment to the Manzanita Elementary School District Office at 627 E. Evans Reimer Rd., Gridley, CA 95948. Applications must be received no later than October 28, 2026, at 4:00 p.m.
The Board of Trustees will review applications and interview qualified candidates during a public meeting at 627 E. Evans Reimer Rd. on November 18, 2026 at 6:00 p.m.
The Board intends to make a provisional appointment immediately following the interviews.
Unless a petition calling for a special election, signed by a sufficient number of registered voters, is filed with the Butte County Superintendent of Schools at 1859 Bird Street, Oroville, CA 95965, within 30 days of the provisional appointment, the appointment will become final.
